Sainik School Kalikri is the Twenty Fifth School established and the second in Andhra Pradesh. At present admission is offered in Class VI only. This is a fully residential School for boys only. The School is affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education. A Local Board of Administration oversees the overall administration of the School and ensures implementation of policies laid down by the Board of Governors from time to time. Capt. (IN) Simon Xavier was commissioned into the Educational branch of Indian Navy in Spring Term 1989. During the last 29 years of service, he has held various assignments including four tenures at the Naval Academy where the Cradle of Naval Leadership Breeds. He was the joint director of Naval Education at Naval Headquarters, wherein he was instrumental in the landmark decision by the MHRD that the admissions for the defence wards studying in various defence run schools guaranteed admissions at KVS at par with the KV TCs which had largely benefitted entire defence community.He was the first controller of Academics at the Indian Naval Academy which was established recently at Ezhimala, Kerala. He was also the Executive Director of Naval Public School, Kochi for three years during which period the School stood first among all the NPSS in the country. He had the unique opportunity to head the NCC Group Head Quarters, Ernakulum as the Group Commander, that period the Group won the Chief Minister’s banner for two consecutive years.Capt. (IN) Simon Xavier is happily married to Mrs Vinatha Simon who is a teacher by profession and the couple is blessed with two daughters; the elder one had graduated from the St. Stephen’s College, New Delhi and the younger one is pursuing B.Arch at NIT, Patna.He is interested in human inner engineering and voracious reader.
