INTER HOUSE ENGLISH DECLAMATION COMPETITION

Keeping the cadets abreast with the latest issues, an Inter House English Declamation Competition was organised on 21 st Nov 2016 for the cadets of classes VI-VIII. Offg Principal Wg Cdr VS Dangwal was the Chief Guest of the occasion and Mrs Sweta Dangwal was the Guest of Honour. The declamation competition was aimed to promote the skills of effective Public speaking. The competition was conducted in two categories: Sub Juniors and Juniors. The cadets of the two categories enthusiastically expressed their views on different topics ranging from politics to ancient stage shows. As declamation refers to reciting a speech with feelings, the participants competed with a talented pool of contestants from all the four houses and recited the speeches in an extraordinary manner. Every cadet had a different style of reciting a speech with lot of the information for the listeners. The cadets spoke on an array of topic. Their efforts were indeed commendable and made it very difficult for the judges to select the winners. All the participants were well prepared and their knowledge about their topics left everyone in awe.

From Sub Juniors category it was the ever winning Krishna House which emerged as the winner and in the Juniors category to every one’s surprise it was the Penna House which lifted the trophy. The winners of the competition received the certificates from the Guest of Honour and the rolling trophies were given away by the Chief Guest. The cadets felt very happy and proud after receiving the glorious trophies. Addressing the cadets after the prize distribution the Chief Guest said the competition was indeed an indicator of the training being imparted at Sainik School Kalikiri to develop the English language skills of the cadets. He appreciated all the cadets for their efforts and complimented the winners. The competition was judged by panel of external jury Sri Harinadha Reddy and Sri Ramana. The judges had no doubt in stating that all contestants were well prepared and performed amazingly well.
