INTER HOUSE HINDI POEM RECITATION

“Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words” -- Robert Frost Recitation invests in vocabulary, articulation, expression and communication. It enables the cadets to more effortlessly exploit inner talents and in the bargain constructs confidence. Besides helping acquire an abiding interest in literature which would offer companionship for a lifetime. Giving importance to all these points an Inter-House Hindi Poem Recitation Competition was held in the School Auditorium on 13 Feb, 2017 for classes VI, VII and VIII. Each house offered 8 participants, 4 from Class VI and 4 from Classes VII and VIII, 2 from each class respectively. The contestants were well-rehearsed and involved, as it were with the thought and sentiments that their verse was composed of and applied themselves to delivering the same with a special compassion. Poise naturally followed the poignancy of their effort.
Offg. Principal Sqn Ldr TK Sumesh graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The external judges Shri Guru Prasad Rao and Ms Shaheena were invited to assess the participants. The criteria for the competition were choice of poem, its presentation and pronunciation and how well it is learnt. There was a wide range of poems by well-known poets. The cadets participated earnestly in the competition. They came up with different poems and recited with enthusiasm.
This year it is the Tungabhadra House which lifted the trophies in both the Sub Juniors and Juniors categories. The Chief Guest in his address to the gathering said Hindi is one of the famous languages and it is the need of the hour to focus on learning Hindi. He informed the gathering that the government is spending crores of rupees to spread awareness among the public about the importance of Hindi language. He appreciated the efforts put in by the participants to bring laurels to their houses.
Indeed the competition ignited the interest of the cadets to select some great poems of Hindi literature for their presentation. The audience enjoyed each and every poem recited by the participants and expressed their happiness with a big round of applause.
